WAIS was officially authorized by IBO in April 2020 and officially passed the IBPYP school certification, becoming the first IBPYP world school in Hubei Province to introduce the International Baccalaureate (IB) PYP - Primary Years Programme.

Wuhan Australian International School (WAIS) was established in 2016 to educate both National and International students. With the Primary and Middle School well established, plans are underway to expand the WAIS High School program.

WAIS was officially authorized by IBO in April 2020 and officially passed the IBPYP school certification, becoming the first IBPYP world school in Hubei Province to introduce the International Baccalaureate (IB) PYP - Primary Years Programme. The WAIS provides unique education for children by integrating the advantages of the Chinese national curriculum, together with the IB programme. A WAIS education prepares students for the national examinations whilst acquiring the knowledge, skills and understanding of a global perspective.

Wuhan Australian International School (WAIS) is centrally located in South Luoshi Road, Hongshan district of Wuhan, the central urban area, near Second Ring Road and Subway No.8 Road. WAIS has a campus of 40 acres with 25,000 square metres of school buildings.

The school is well equipped with excellent, modern teaching and learning facilities. Students enjoy the use of spacious classrooms and many specialist teaching areas including: Science Laboratories, Design and Technology facilities, Art, Dance and Music Studios, Indoor sport areas for Taekwondo and Fencing.

A heated indoor swimming pool and fully equipped Performing Arts Theatre along with an all-weather athletics track, tennis courts, basketball courts and spacious playground areas, create a perfect environment for students to work, learn and play.

Staff at the WAIS are appointed from within China and abroad. Both our National and International teachers are highly qualified, committed and focused on students and their learning.
